April Challenge - Day 5

I'm a little late posting today...I decided to SLEEP IN!!!! I even skipped my class at the gym....I'll have to go for a hike later!  Trying to get FIT by FIFTY!!!

I LOVE today's card!  The really great thing about it is that my nine year old Kathryn made one with me too....all on her own...just with a little direction!  Again...I made one to mail and one to keep for a workshop sample!  I realized this morning that I have been doing a lot of flower cards....SPRING IS IN THE AIR!

This card is really fun and easy to make.  I simply stamped the background in Soft Suede with the Hardwood stamp....it is the COOLEST stamp....I LOVE IT!!!  I punched the flowers with the Boho Blossom punch and the Itty Bitty flower punches.  I created the centers with the 3/4" circle punch, the Itty Bitty circle punch and with Candy Dots....all in Early Espresso.   I used Pool Party cardstock for the inside of the card...to make it look like sky. The crow is made with the Bird Builder punch, black cardstock and a scrap of Modern Medley designer paper.  Of course I had to add some Basic Pearls!

The grass was made with the Fringe scissors...I rolled the fringed ends over the piercing part of my piercing tool to curl them.  This made the paper start to separate (SU cardstock is two layers thick) so I decided to separate them for a more dimensional look.   This is a great technique with flowers too...lightbulb....I'll have to share that with you during this challenge!!

For the inside of the I used the part of the fence that I cut from the front of the card.  I added a sunflower behind it....I LOVE how it peeks out the front of the card.

Here is my other card

...and my daughters card!  She didn't want a crow, instead opting for butterflies that she made with the Beautiful Wings Embosslits.
